Narrative Writing

This term we are learning about how to write narratives that hook readers into the story.
The purpose of a narrative is to entertain someone.

The Haunted House

On a cloudy morning deep within a leafy forest lived a troublemaking teenager named Steve ready to prank anyone who walks in his house with a pain.tball gun. Steves mammoth mock of hair was like a sheriff hat & his velvet red skinny jeans stuck to his legs so bodaciously awesome that rabbits fainted in the sight of them. Steve had a broad chest with lots of muscle. Steve’s house was a beautiful house including three prodigious floors complemented with green walls. The roof of the house was covered with plantation



Checklist – Narrative
Structure

Orientation: (first paragraph)
* Where did the story take place?
* When did the story take place?
* How did the story begin?
* Who?
 
Complication or problem: a description/ explanation of the problem.
The problem usually involves the main character(s).
Resolution: how the problem has been solved.
Conclusion: a final concluding statement.
Characterisation: a description of the main characters.
What do they look like?
Theme: a clear message.
